END OF THE SESSION PARTY; MANAGING DIRECTOR’S SPEECH

The chairman of this occasion, our special guests of honour, great men of God, our amiable and distinguished parents, the graduating pupils/students from the three schools, our heads of schools, ladies and gentle men. It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the 21st edition of our graduation ceremony and prize giving day event.

Graduation ceremony is an annual event all over the world in the life of any progressive academic institution. Usually, it is the peak of the over-all academic activities of any institution. The essence of graduation in any school is to present the academic products of the school to the members of the public and to the society as a whole. These products are expected to have been fully prepared to make positive changes in the society. They are expected to have been polished, refined, and serve as agent of change to the society.

Graduating students therefore are expected to make turn-around changes in the society. In our own situation, the pupils and the students we are graduating today are expected to move into the next level of learning, for the fulfillment of societal expectation on them. Learning is a continuous process in our world. Any effort therefore that is aimed at promoting and enhancing effective learning is a worthwhile effort.

This year, we have a total number of 245 graduating pupils and students from the three schools. We have 52 pupils graduating from the nursery school to the primary school, 60 pupils graduating from the primary to the college, 80 students graduating from junior school to the senior school and we have 52 students graduating from our college who are on their way to various universities of their choice. In all of these, we can boldly say as a school that we have labored day and night to make these graduands what and who they are today.

My appreciation goes to all the members of staff, teaching and non-teaching, who have laboured day and night to ensure that the success of this year does not differ or diminish from the previous ones. I celebrate the heads of schools also for today’s success.

To our distinguished parents, whose children are graduating today, I congratulate you warmly. Your financial, moral and mental support in ensuring that the graduating students of today achieve this feat cannot be over – emphasized. Your dedication and commitment is per excellence. You’re distinguished indeed.

Ladies and gentlemen, permit me at this junction to address the graduating students publicly. Today’s event is the beginning of the series of successes you will record in the cause of your various endeavors in life. I admonish you strongly like I have always done to uphold the tenet of discipline. “A disciplined life is a successful life”. Indiscipline remains a big canker-worm that has eaten deeply into the fabric of our Nationhood. “Show me a successful man and I will show you a disciplined man”. Dare to stand out within the corridor of discipline and the whole world will applaud you. Today the youth in our society remain the victim of various temptations and vices, it is disturbing, how the evil of fraud called yahoo has destroyed innocent and promising youths. Some youth have gone to their grave unprepared, some are languishing in prison, while several others are wasting away on the street. Emulate great men and women who through hard work and discipline have brought great changes to their societies. Cultism is a destructive phenomenon. A cultist today is a candidate of hell tomorrow.

In conclusion, various programmes and events are lined up for today. I encourage therefore all our parents and guests to wait patiently till the end of the event. Apart from graduation ceremony, certain pupils and students who have distinguished themselves in their various classes and subjects shall also be rewarded in their various classes with prizes. This is to encourage them to do more and to equal challenge their class-mates that academic excellence is the best.
